The Long Service Awards scheme is Birmingham City Council’s project to recognise and reward their longest-serving staff. I was commissioned to design a logo to be used on all Long Service Awards print, as well as on the commemorative badges and certificates which are given to each long-server.

The awards are split into three categories: 25, 35 and 45 years of service. The client was keen to differentiate each category but retain an overall brand for the whole event.

The branding was designed to reflect this, with a three-part colour scheme of copper, gold and platinum. The logo incorporates a ribbon motif to reflect the continuity that each long server has brought to their post.
